Eligibility

• The admissions are through central counselling on the basis of merit in VTU-Ph.D. entrance or GATE.

• Foreign candidates (with English as medium) and National candidates who fulfil the following conditions are eligible to apply for VTU PhD admission.

• i) Latest batch researchers who have registered for any of the University Research centres as fulltime Researchers for pursuing Research Programme leading to PhD Degree are only eligible for the Fellowship.

• ii) Researchers with PhD degree and seeking an additional PhD on fulltime basis at any of the university research centres.

• iii) Researchers who are receiving financial assistance from any organizationor who are Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) or Faculty improvement Program (FIP) and receiving regular salary, are not eligible for the fellowship.

Procedure to Apply for VTU Doctorial Fellowship and Selection

• Application shall be invited, in the prescribed format of VTU from the latest batch fulltime researchers registered at any of the University Regional Centres for the consideration of Research Fellowship.

• Duly filled Application shall be sent or submitted to the Registrar, VTU on or before the last date mentioned in the notification.

• The decision of the Expert Committee in selection of the Researchers for the fellowship withstand final and binding.

• The Registrar, VTU, with the approval of the Vice Chancellor, shall publish the list of candidates selected for the fellowship on the university website and issue orders to the selected candidates confirming the award of fellowship to them.

• All the correspondence pertaining to the Researcher shall be forwarded to the university by the Research Supervisor or Research Centre Head.




• Financial Aid: University has the provision to provide the Financial assistance along with the other regular benefits for the Researchers who registered to pursue on fulltime basis to help them meet the research expenses.
